Ecuras, located 35km east of Angoulême, on the foothills of the Massif Central, geologically belongs to Limousin, as shown by its wooded and hilly landscapes which sources and streams keep green.

But Périgord is not far away, since it is the Tardoire valley which here separates the Charente from the Dordogne.

Its charm lies in its wooded slopes, its constantly changing, sometimes steep hills, its green meadows where Limousin cows graze. It is these landscapes that make it attractive to tourists from France or elsewhere. Hence the creation of the Chat holiday village of some 250 pavilions, the 18-hole golf course at La Prèze.

So much so that with its 267 secondary residences compared to 250 main residences, Ecuras is classified as a tourist commune.

The proximity of the Chambon Outdoor Center is another asset. Its visitors take advantage of the climbing rocks located on our territory and take on foot, mountain bike, or horseback our hiking trails which are surely among the most picturesque in the department. The network of trails in the town offers a remarkable variety, whether you are looking for relaxation or effort.

In 2013, the municipality restored the fountains and wash houses of 16 villages in the commune, which it linked together by two pedestrian circuits.

We are focusing heavily on tourism, green tourism which is essentially based on our landscapes and our climate, our welcome.
